THE ROLAND CURTIN FOUNDATION NEEDS YOUR HELP
The Roland Curtin Foundation was established more than half a century ago with the mission of preserving Eagle Iron Works and Curtin Village. We've played a pivotal role in maintaining the historic structures and collections. We've provided educational programs for schools and organizations, given public tours, and hosted scheduled programs. We've supported and assisted the research of history scholars. We've encouraged use of the site as a venue for creative and artistic pursuits, as well as recreational activities and family events. We've put in place and implemented strategic plans for further development of the site.
The Eagle Iron Works represents the Juniata Iron Region, the leading iron manufacturing region in the Nation in the mid 1800s, and was the Juniata's longest-operating iron furnace and the last to cease production. Curtin is of State and National significance in industrial development to be sure, but also represents a way of life in Pennsylvania's 19th-Century iron plantations.
As a non-profit organization, the Roland Curtin Foundation relies heavily on private gifts to continue its work. Contact us if you'd like to discuss making a directed gift for a specific use. Our contact details are listed on the Homepage.
